Before the Chinese New Year, waiting in lines for hours for tickets and then for the train is a standard situation. Security requirements even make the situation worse. You can't enter the station too early because the police check your tickets. To accompany someone from your family, you need to buy an additional 'guest' ticket for about one zloty. To enter the station, you often have to wait in long lines between baggage scanning barriers.
