We were waiting in the very center of the city for a fireworks show to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the city of Shenzhen. The show was canceled at the last minute because President Hu Jintao, who was dealing with the problem of tourists from Hong Kong, did not arrive on time. They were kidnapped in the Philippines.
