Many main streets in Chinese metropolises are still dominated by taxis and buses. Many people do not have a driving license, or they cannot afford it, or they are not predisposed to it, or they do not have time for it. The poorer people squeeze in crowded and smelly buses, which are air-conditioned but never cleaned. And others take crazy taxis, although they are not easy to catch during rush hour.
