Street trading

© Bartłomiej Magierowski
In large cities, local authorities are always trying to normalize and modernize trade. They fight against counterfeits in the city center, collect taxes, insist that only registered stores/companies sell, and promote branded products. At least they maintain some semblance of fighting illegal street trade. In fact, both in Shenzhen, Shanghai and in Guangzhou, there are areas where there are many such "blanket" sellers - they offer handbags, phones, batteries, toys, T-shirts... They remind me a bit of the famous Polish bazaars from the 90s.
