In southern China, police bicycles have been introduced in cities such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou, where there is virtually no winter. For years, ordinary police officers had bicycles, but now they are fancy bikes equipped with batteries, beacons, LED lighting, bells ;-). Here's a set of new bikes straight from the factory, some still covered in cardboard! I can already see the headlines: "Police officers from the HuangGang police station received 20 modern bicycles, this equipment will serve them reliably to patrol the streets and chase down petty criminals."
