China is changing rapidly, and so is the Chinese countryside. Here is a landscape somewhere north of Guangzhou. In the foreground there is an old-style house, but in the distance you can see larger brick houses. Poles have been welded on the rural road to block oversized trucks from getting stuck under the viaduct. In China, vehicles are usually overloaded and this is how they protect themselves from a dangerous situation. As you can see, the fields and gardens are green, because plants grow here practically all year round. There are never negative temperatures.
