Much has changed in Shenzhen's Luohu District. Several dozen new office buildings, various hotels, clubs and shopping centers were built. In the 1990s, there were only a few hotels, some government buildings, and a few banks. I know from books and various stories that the city then resembled the Chinese Wild West - a lot of prostitution, many fraudsters, pimps, seekers of a better life, there were probably some 'sheriffs' as well. I would like to go back in time someday and see how much has changed.
