KTV karaoke clubs saw a revival as more and more people from Hong Kong began crossing the border into China for tourism and entertainment purposes. This migration on a larger scale began in 2003-2004, and is now on a massive scale. Thousands of people from Hong Kong come to Shenzhen to enjoy cheaper entertainment: KTV clubs, massage parlors, bars and restaurants. In recent years, this has obviously resulted in higher prices, especially in Futian District.
