China is a police state. This has its pros and cons. Of course, the presence of policemen and constables in city centers, on promenades and in front of shopping malls is an advantage. The police also have melex vehicles, which are perfect for city promenades and narrow streets. In addition, they have motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and bicycles. I have witnessed how successfully they catch petty thieves.
