A bicycle, i.e. a Chinese semi-truck

You don't even know what a bicycle is in China?! It is used to transport bamboos, sometimes they even weigh more than the cyclist, I once helped a cyclist stand his bike upright. This friend is carrying a whole pile of Styrofoam, various packaging, boxes, etc. He didn't load much anyway. I most admire guys who carry four large gas cylinders or even five drinking water cylinders to the dispensers on their bikes. Here, a bicycle is simply a semi-truck, as are a scooter and a motorbike. For them, a bicycle has never been and will never be a means of active recreation, but only (or perhaps especially) a means of transport.
