Taxis in Shanghai

© Liu Li Hong
In the center of Shanghai (though maybe not only) you can't get a taxi at all in the evening. I experienced this myself a year ago, but recently someone confirmed it. After 6 p.m., virtually all taxis are occupied, millions of people leave work, go home, arrange meetings, dinners, and go to parties. Apart from them, there are also thousands of tourists and businessmen who usually travel only by taxis. Amazing... I waited for a taxi for almost an hour and finally we caught one at the hotel, it was a taxi for a hotel guest, but luckily for us he decided not to go.
