Life and Travel in China

And in Gazeta.pl I found this description for the photo: 'A worker in an electronics factory in Shenzhen - the show city of the Chinese economic miracle.' Showcase city? What text... that there would be at least half of such a 'show city' in Poland. You can laugh. A guy or a woman visited one factory and got excited that someone was cutting PCBs there day and night. How many factories have I already visited! I saw different workers, in different conditions, but it's better to have work at all than when someone dies of hunger, as was the case in the 1950s. These people just don't understand it. Let them go to Polish factories, mines, steelworks and write something... but what about the lack of profitability, lack of orders, unemployment? Well, it's more interesting to write about how 'cheap' labor is used in China, whose salaries are in fact increasingly similar to those in Poland. Let them go to Turkey or India (kids work there, I've never seen it in China)!

From May 1, the Labor Day holiday in China is practically in effect for a week. All Chinese go to famous places, such as Guilin (magnificent landscapes), Shanghai, Hong Kong (Disney World), Xi'an (terra-cotta army), Beijing etc. Crowds everywhere, millions of people. Imagine a beach about 5 km long, completely crowded, even traffic on the only road in that area has been closed, the same in parks, you just walk as if in a queue, and you are surrounded by groups of people on all sides, the same in shopping centers and supermarkets. I don't know how the Chinese can relax like that?! They're just used to crowds everywhere.

And I forgot to tell you that three days ago I met a Chinese man wearing an interesting T-shirt. I'm walking down the street, I look, a guy in a red T-shirt, a small Puma logo, and a Polish emblem on his chest, I look closer to confirm my suspicions and I see a small Polish flag on his sleeve. Excellent! The first Chinese person I've ever met wearing our national football team's shirt, a nice sight! Almost like among your own people!!!

I planned four days in the mountains, but came back after two. A village in Guangdong province, near Guangzhou. Supposedly mineral waters, hotels, mountains, hot springs, etc. Everything is about 30 km away from the town, but I didn't expect such a village. The hotel is quite poor, but the price is 150 RMB/day, no infrastructure, no decent restaurants, dirty shops, poor villages, only relatively interesting mountains and a slightly cluttered waterfall. National park - paid entry, of course, and inside there are deer trapped behind a fence (it smelled so bad there) and two islands with monkeys and peacocks (but to get there, you have to pay for the cruise again). I was more eager to see the 'free part of the mountains' than this poor park. Pathetic, and Poland is so beautiful.

I just came back from a large supermarket and one DVD cover caught my eye. Imagine that it was a Polish Old Fairy Tale. But... on the front cover there is a strange knight in armor (not from this movie at all), behind him in the background there is a blonde like Pamela (especially not from Stara Baśni), and at the bottom there is a large battlefield (also not in this movie). Żebrowski is in the corner, covered with price. On the back it's better, you can see small, red-saturated scenes from the film, everything is correct, there is Żebrowski, Olbrychski, Foremniak and Popiel, i.e. Stupka. All in all, I was happy, although maybe even the producer of this film doesn't know that you can buy copies in China?! I like the movie, maybe the Chinese will like it too!
