Life and Travel in China

A week ago, a young woman was murdered near my housing estate, what was drastic was that the head was severed and found in another part of the city. A few days ago, someone also killed a girl (probably a prostitute) in a karaoke club, also in this area. It's getting interesting, they said on TV a month ago that gangs from Hong Kong are starting to compete for influence in China, and Shenzhen is the closest to Hong Kong. Such crimes are not a coincidence, they are certainly related to organized crime, the mafia, racketeering, prostitution, maybe even drug trafficking.

I see on the Internet that there are more and more good photos. Cameras have become easier to use, digital SLR cameras offer great results even for amateurs. In addition, thousands of websites present truly unique photos. My contribution to all this is small (mainly lack of time, as well as inferior analog and very poor digital equipment), and I am not a professional either. Nevertheless, I hope that I am giving you a little insight into the middle country.

The American lifestyle has probably already conquered China for good. Well, all (Chinese) restaurants are empty outside the noon and evening hours, because it's not lunch or dinner time, they eat very punctually. The exception is all KFC and McDonald fast food outlets. Imagine that the Chinese sit there from early morning until late at night, crowds on weekends. They treat this food as some unique miracle from the West, amazing flavors, wonderful snacks and unusual main courses, and sitting there is a time of relaxation and joy of life. Entire families go there, even children who cannot speak yet. I can already see them being overweight in a few years!!!

...and going back to yesterday's thread, something like American Idol is currently playing on Chinese TV. Why is the whole world so Americanized?

Major inspections begin today in Chinese internet cafes and record stores. It is mainly about checking the legality of software and media, as well as controlling access to prohibited websites (mainly pornography). If a store has more than 100 illegal CDs, it will be closed for some time and will of course be charged some kind of fine. And this is the answer to the question... why there are no Playstation games on sale anymore. I also wonder what the owners of a nearby store will do, where 50% of the goods are erotic and porn CDs?
